La Montre

Rolex, Longines, Nordstorm, Diesel, Fossil are some of the names that are that I found when I searched for watches. These days with the use of cellphones more people use them to tell time and less people are donning watches. A watch is however not for just telling time, it is much more than that.

The two most common watches are the digital and analog watches.  You may have noticed that some analog watches are written quartz. Well quartz I came to find out means that the watches keep extremely accurate time.

When I think digital, the thing that comes into mind is a sports watch like Adidas, Casio, Breo.

As I researched more on watches I stumbled upon some other types of watches. Chronograph watches, which can either, be digital or analogue. The thing that is unique about this watch is that it also has a stopwatch. Some example of chronograph brands include TAG Heuer and Accurist

Then there is the chronometer. This watch is a high precision type of watch. It has been done various tests to ensure that it is high precision.

Well I have given the types of watches that are there but the question is how to wear the watch. You don’t want to end up wearing a sport watch with a nice suit. Sounds extreme but I have seen people do this mistake. A watch should not only be used to tell time but should also blend with how you are dressed.  Watches can be worn during various occasions: casual, for work, sports, home and leisure and formal nights. While at work, one should wear a watch that is not flashy. It should be subtle.  Remember how you dress especially in the office determine how your bosses see you. So sports watches with a suit is a big no!

With casual or leisure you are free to experiment. You can wear all types of watches from a sports watch to an analogue watch with black leather straps. U can even try something different to impress the people you are around with.

For formal nights then you need to have a good watch. If you are wearing an expensive suit with expensive cuff link and an expensive shoe well a watch should not be different. You can have that special watch that you keep for special occasion. There are designer watches too and yes some one will notice it is a designer watch

For divers one will need a waterproof watch and as for people who usually jog, they may have a sports watch or a chronograph watch.

Now that you have known the various watches and how to wear them go and get one and the next time I ask what the time is don’t tell me wait I check my phone.
